• Schedule: Full-time nights (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with rotating shifts

Description

Provide inpatient nursing care for adults (18+) in a specialized oncology/step-down unit affiliated with a cancer center. The role focuses on inpatient chemotherapy support, symptom management, and palliative/end-of-life/hospice care while coordinating outcomes-based nursing through the nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data; identify expected outcomes
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Coordinate care delivery and assess progress toward goals
• Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of assistant staff
• Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and ancillary staff to create documented, outcome-focused care plans
• Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions
• Use best available evidence to guide practice decisions
• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects

Requirements

• BSN
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities
• If hired with an ADN: commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of the first day in the clinical nurse role
