Cardiology Physician (General Cardiology Coverage)

Quick Facts

• Full-time preferred; minimum of 2 weeks per month
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM–12:30 PM
• Call rotation: weeknight and weekend
• Patient volume: ~15–20 clinic patients/day; ~15–25 inpatient encounters during hospital rotations
• EMR: Epic

Description

Provide general cardiology coverage across inpatient and outpatient settings, including clinic and hospital rotations with outreach across multiple regional clinics. Duties include TEE and cardioversions, interpretation of EKGs and heart monitors, and providing echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. The role includes participation in a Cardiology fellowship program with strong physician, APP, and cardiac surgery support.

Responsibilities

• Cover outpatient cardiology clinic and inpatient hospital rotations
• Perform inpatient rounding, admissions, and consultative cardiology care
• Provide TEE and cardioversion services
• Interpret EKGs and heart monitor data
• Conduct echocardiography and nuclear cardiology
• Support outreach responsibilities across multiple regional clinics

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
• Active Iowa license or IMLC with Letter of Qualification
• Fellowship training in General Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology
