Description

You will lead the development and modernization of an application critical to the functioning of Poland’s power system. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on implementation of the most complex backend and frontend parts. Modernization includes migrating from Java EE to a modern architecture and moving to current Angular versions.

Responsibilities

  • Technically lead the developers: code review, mentoring, competency development, and engineering standards
  • Design system architecture, components, and APIs using an API-first approach with OpenAPI
  • Co-lead modernization: reduce technical debt and plan a technical roadmap
  • Implement critical and most complex parts of the application (backend and frontend)
  • Define testing strategy, Definition of Done, and CI/CD pipeline quality with the team
  • Work with the business architect, IT analyst, and security team to define and verify requirements
  • Select tools and technologies, including deploying AI tools that support development

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial experience with Java; 3+ years with TypeScript and Angular
  • Experience in technical leadership (lead/tech lead or senior performing the lead role)
  • Excellent knowledge of modern Java (17/21+): records, sealed classes, virtual threads
  • Experience with one framework: Spring Boot or Quarkus
  • Strong Angular knowledge in current versions (standalone components, signals, RxJS) and state management (NgRx or Signal Store)
  • Practical architecture design experience: modular monolith, hexagonal/clean architecture, DDD; asynchronous communication (Kafka/RabbitMQ or similar)
  • Experience designing and versioning REST APIs using OpenAPI and contracts
  • Strong testing practice: JUnit 5, Testcontainers, contract tests, and E2E frontend tests (Playwright or Cypress)
  • Relational database expertise with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL, including query optimization and schema migrations (Liquibase/Flyway)
  • Container and orchestration experience (Docker/Podman, Nomad or Kubernetes) and CI/CD (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • DevSecOps understanding: dependency scanning, SAST/DAST, secret management, secure coding
  • Hands-on daily work with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and willingness to implement them in the team
  • Ability to translate technical decisions into business terms and vice versa

Benefits

  • Build a system with real importance for the power grid infrastructure
  • Real impact on architecture and technology choices made by the engineering team
  • Modern tools, including on-premise AI infrastructure for local model experiments and licenses for agent-based coding tools
  • Remote work model with flexible working hours
  • Training budget and time for development (conferences, certifications, courses)
  • Employment stability and long-term perspective
  • Private medical care, sports card, PPK, and group insurance
  • Quality-focused team culture with no overtime culture
