Description

Develop and enhance web applications across frontend interfaces, backend services, databases, and cloud infrastructure. Implement responsive UIs, Java backend services and REST APIs, secure authentication/authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT, and data layer improvements through schema design and query optimization. Deploy with CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure-as-code, while leveraging AI-assisted development tools and validating generated code for correctness, security, performance, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies
• Implement backend services, business logic, and RESTful APIs using Java and related backend stacks
• Design and maintain database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT)
• Build scalable and reliable application components meeting functional and non-functional requirements
• Run unit and integration tests, debug and troubleshoot issues, and maintain code quality
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and IaC
• Collaborate with frontend/backend developers, architects, and stakeholders for end-to-end integration
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and architecture decision records
• Use AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Kiro) and validate AI-generated code
• Work within Agile processes and apply software engineering best practices

Requirements

• University degree equivalent to EQF Level 7 (typically master’s level or 5 years of higher education)
• At least 5 years of professional IT experience
• English B2 level or higher (spoken and written)
• Frontend proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and experience with Vaadin 7, Angular, React, Vue, and Bootstrap
• Advanced Java 8/17 and backend experience (JEE: EJB 3, CDI, JMS; Spring Boot; Hibernate JPA)
• Experience with secured RESTful APIs/web services (Kafka, Protobuf, JAX-WS, JAXB, OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB; schema design, query optimization, and Flyway version control
• Strong understanding of WebLogic 12c and 14
• Experience with Maven, Webpack, and Vite
• Automated testing experience with JUnit 4 and Mockito
• Expert knowledge of Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) using GitLab and Bitbucket; ability to handle legacy SVN
• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure and IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Bicep
• Containerization and orchestration knowledge with Docker and Kubernetes
• Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT
• Agile delivery experience and JIRA usage
• Ability to write clear technical specifications for AI coding agents (e.g., Kiro, GitHub Copilot) and awareness of AI limitations
