Description

Serve as a clinically competent, registered professional nurse in inpatient neuro telemetry, coordinating care for acutely ill patients through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Interact effectively with patients, families, and the health team while adhering to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements. Use evidence-based practice to guide clinical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data; identify expected outcomes

• Develop, implement, and individualize an individualized plan of care

• Coordinate care delivery and evaluate progress toward outcome attainment

• Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in direct patient care

• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff; document an outcomes-focused plan of care

• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects

• Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions and update the plan of care based on evaluation

• Use best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience

• BSN required; ADN acceptable if committed to obtain a BSN within 3 years of the first day of employment in the clinical nurse role

• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate with others

• Strong analytic abilities
