Description

Provide clinically competent inpatient nursing care for acutely ill patients in a neuro telemetry setting using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate care delivery, interact effectively with patients and significant others, and collaborate with physicians and ancillary staff while maintaining ANA professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data; identify expected outcomes; develop and implement individualized plans; evaluate progress toward outcomes

• Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of assistants involved in direct patient care

• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff; create documented, outcome-focused care plans

• Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects

• Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions and individualize the plan of care

• Use the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions

Requirements

• BSN (ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within 3 years of the first day in the clinical nurse role)

• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate with others

• Strong analytic abilities
