Description

Provide quality control inspection for personal property operations by observing, documenting, and evaluating carrier and contractor performance for DoD personnel shipments. Counsel members on policies and procedures for preparing personal property (including specialized items) for domestic and overseas shipment/storage. Prepare automated reports on carrier performance and provide oversight of the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) contract.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and evaluate carrier and contractor performance
• Counsel members on proper preparation of personal property for shipment and/or storage
• Prepare documentation reporting carrier performance using automated systems
• Provide oversight of the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) contract

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Selective Service registration (for eligible males)
• Valid state driver’s license
• Pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing
• At least 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-06 level (or equivalent) related to transportation rules/procedures for domestic/foreign shipments and personal property entitlements/documentation
• Knowledge of transportation regulations for specialized shipments (e.g., mobile homes, large boats, house trailers) and shipment requirements
• Knowledge of automated transportation systems to reconcile nonstandard errors and support automated procedure development
• Basic office automation capability (document handling, printing, editing, spreadsheet entry, email)
• Irregular duty hours and overtime may be required
