Description

Serve as a transportation quality control inspector by observing, documenting, and evaluating carrier and contractor performance for personal property operations. You will counsel members on policies and procedures for preparing personal property for shipment or storage (including specialized items), prepare performance documentation using automated systems, and provide oversight of the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) contract.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and evaluate carrier and contractor performance
• Counsel DoD members on personal property shipment/storage preparation and policies (domestic and overseas)
• Prepare documentation reporting carrier performance using automated systems
• Provide oversight of DPM contract

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Male candidates: registered for Selective Service
• Valid state driver’s license
• Obtain and maintain required security clearance
• Irregular duty hours and possible overtime
• Random drug testing (Testing Designated Position)
• Complete probationary/trial period and obtain required written certification to continue employment
• Specialized experience per OPM Qualification Standards (Transportation Clerk and Assistant series)
