Description

Manage the facility’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program, including development, administration, evaluation, and preventive advisory support for systemic and case-focused issues. Recruit and supervise EEO staff, analyze EEO-related problems, and develop and implement policies and strategies to handle discrimination complaints, including alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Lead required workplace harassment prevention orientation and refresher training, advise the EEO Committee, and help improve representation of minorities, people with disabilities, women, and other Special Emphasis Groups.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire subordinate EEO staff using merit staffing and EEO guidelines
• Ensure fair and equitable employment practices for training, promotions, awards, and other career development
• Conduct facility-wide analyses of EEO issues and systemic problems
• Investigate discriminatory practices; develop and implement EEO policies and procedures
• Plan and oversee EEO program activities (develop, monitor, evaluate, and update)
• Serve as technical advisor to the EEO Committee and support an effective recognition program
• Improve workforce representation for Special Emphasis Groups and reduce/eliminate discrimination complaints
• Develop and administer an ADR program to resolve controversies without litigation
• Conduct mandated new-employee workplace harassment prevention orientation
• Ensure refresher workplace harassment prevention training every 2 years
• Provide leadership and administrative supervision to EEO advisory committees and technical assistants involved in counseling, investigative, and legal aspects of EEO
