Description

You will source and develop practical AI-Native ideas, quickly prototype them, and productize what gains traction for wider company use. The role spans building LLM-powered applications and MCP servers, working with external model vendors, and applying security best practices throughout development.

Responsibilities

• Source the latest practical AI-Native ideas and solutions from inside and outside the company

• Communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers at the appropriate depth

• Assess trade-offs across complexity, cost, and other factors

• Work with external vendors/trials as needed (e.g., open-weights models)

• Develop prototypes quickly and present them to the appropriate audience

• Productize team prototypes so they can be used across the company

• Apply a security mindset to your work and others’ work

• Present work to small audiences to gain traction and feedback

• Complete additional tasks that may arise

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/certification in Computer Science or a related field

• 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience focused on backend applications, services, and APIs

• Strong programming skills in Python and Go

• AI literacy using AI tools for engineers (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor)

• Experience with databases, including SQL

• Experience building LLM-powered applications and MCP servers

• Experience working with AWS services

• Experience with security analyses and auditing in an AI setting

• Ability to commute to the Cambridge, MA office 3 days per week

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
