Description

Support a long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract performing middle-tier and backend engineering. You will design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices, integrate Kafka and Elasticsearch, and deploy services to Kubernetes using CI/CD. The role emphasizes collaboration, architecture planning, and reliable production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Python microservices

• Implement message producers and consumers with Apache Kafka

• Integrate with Elasticsearch for real-time and batch data indexing and querying

• Write unit and integration tests with high code coverage

• Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy services to Kubernetes clusters

• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning

• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using observability tools

• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years relevant experience, or Master’s with 6+ years (experience may substitute for degree)

• Python proficiency with backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask)

• Containerization experience, especially Docker

• ETL experience

• Hands-on Linux development experience including bash scripting

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture

• Hands-on Kubernetes experience (deploy, monitor, debug)

• Understanding of design patterns, security practices, and logging/monitoring principles

• Git experience with collaborative workflows (PRs, reviews)

• DevOps and CI/CD practices/tools (GitLab or Jenkins)

• Strong verbal and written communication

• Experience with Agile practices

• Active Security+ certification and ability to obtain PUA certification by the Government
