Description

Own and deliver small-to-medium backend API features end to end for Exposure Management. Build and extend public REST and gRPC APIs used by customer-facing experiences and SIEM integrations (Splunk, Google SecOps, Microsoft Sentinel), while integrating data/services via gRPC and Google Cloud Pub/Sub. Optimize API and database performance, add testing and observability, and participate in release/on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and launch backend product API features

• Build and extend REST/gRPC endpoints supporting Exposure Management and Supplier Risk Intelligence, including risk event endpoints for SIEM integrations

• Collaborate on API contracts (filtering, pagination, response shapes)

• Integrate other teams’ data/services via gRPC and Google Cloud Pub/Sub and define durable interfaces

• Improve performance (Postgres query plans, indexing, caching, payload size)

• Write tests, add observability, and handle release and on-call for owned services

• Incorporate customer feedback and help onboard interns/newer engineers

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building backend services

• Production experience with Go, or strong experience with Python or Java and ability to become proficient in Go quickly

• Experience designing and consuming REST or gRPC APIs (ideally frontend-consumed)

• Solid SQL skills and knowledge of relational modeling, indexing, and query performance

• Track record of maintainable software: CI tests, meaningful monitoring/alerting, thoughtful code reviews

• Clear written and verbal communication with engineering and product teams

• Curiosity and willingness to learn new domains and tools
