Description

Join an acute care hospital for a temporary locum anesthesiology assignment providing anesthesia care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. You will administer general, regional, and local anesthesia as needed, continuously monitor patients, respond to emergencies, and document care accurately. The assignment runs for 13 weeks starting 11/09/26.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative anesthesia care
• Collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams to develop optimal patient care plans
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia based on patient needs
• Continuously monitor vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels to maintain safety
• Respond promptly to emergencies and critical situations during surgery
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record
• Maintain proficiency through continuing education

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Anesthesiology residency accredited by ACGME or AOA
• Board certification in anesthesiology (ABA or AOA)
• Active and unrestricted medical license in Virginia
• Preferred: at least 1 year of anesthesia care experience in a clinical setting
