Description

The Staff Physician provides primary medical care to patients and creates individualized plans of care, including medical history, exam, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment and referrals (including hospitalization when needed). The physician emphasizes preventive health, uses laboratory and radiology resources cost-effectively, and coordinates with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care. The role participates in quality assurance and U.S. Public Health Service health promotion/disease prevention activities, and may include inpatient care and after-hours on-call responsibilities.
