Description

Provide primary care and day-to-day medical management for patients at the Center and its hospital and outpatient settings as appropriate. Serve as a key part of the management team, responsible for care delivery quality, adherence to HIPAA, CLIA, and corporate compliance, and ongoing quality assurance. Supervise nurse practitioners as a medical preceptor and support clinical training for pediatric students and medical assistants.

Responsibilities

• Serve as staff physician for the Center and its satellites; manage patients day-to-day
• Help establish healthcare standards, protocols, and systems to assure quality of patient care
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Protocols, HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, and CLIA standards
• Participate in administrative meetings and support budget development and financial management decisions affecting clinical activities
• Conduct or supervise an ongoing quality assurance program
• Provide primary care services within licensure and standards of care
• Provide inpatient and outpatient care as appropriate if credentialed by an area hospital
• Periodically review patient medical records for accuracy and completeness; ensure safety and maintenance of medical records
• Provide medical orders and patient referrals; coordinate in-hospital hospitalization per patient choice and insurance contract guidelines
• Confer with the Chief Medical Officer and support clinical support staff competence
• Coordinate continuing education and in-service training; act as medical preceptor and supervise nurse practitioners, pediatric students, and medical assistants

Requirements

• MD/DO
• Credentialed and licensed to practice within family medicine primary care scope
• Ability to provide inpatient/outpatient care when credentialed by an area hospital
• Ability to maintain required hospital credentials
• Ability to provide call coverage unless approved backup is available
