Description

Provide diagnostic healthcare services to patients, including history and physical exams, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses, and creating treatment plans. Perform minor procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal, and provide splinting/casting for minor orthopedic injuries. Document encounters thoroughly and handle follow-up calls and incoming patient/pharmacy/physician calls.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform examinations
• Order diagnostic testing and interpret results
• Make diagnoses and develop treatment plans
• Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal)
• Provide splinting and casting for minor orthopedic injuries
• Thoroughly document patient encounters
• Conduct follow up calls and manage incoming calls

Requirements

• MD or Doctor degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, or Internal Medicine (with urgent care)
• Successful completion of an approved residency training program
• Active New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
