Description

Provide diagnostic and urgent care services for patients, including taking medical histories, performing exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, making diagnoses, and creating treatment plans. You will also handle minor procedures and minor orthopedic injuries (including splinting and casting), while ensuring thorough documentation and patient follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily urgent care physician services

• Take medical histories and examine patients

• Order diagnostic testing and interpret results

• Make diagnoses and create treatment plans

• Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal)

• Perform splinting and casting for minor orthopedic injuries

• Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately

• Conduct follow-up calls and handle incoming patient, pharmacy, and physician calls

Requirements

• MD or Doctor

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, and/or Internal Medicine (with urgent care)

• Successful completion of an approved residency training program

• Active New York State Medical Practitioner License

• Current DEA registration

• Current Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing

• Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
