Description

Clinical Psychologists in Behavioral Health provide direct, evidence-based patient care in outpatient and nursing home settings. The role includes assessment of referred patients, delivering therapy using approaches such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and behavioral activation, and making treatment recommendations. You will also coordinate care with other providers and support crisis/risk interventions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients using evidence-based assessment tools

• Provide treatment for behavioral health conditions using evidence-based approaches (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, behavioral activation)

• Make treatment recommendations and refer to a psychiatrist when appropriate

• Monitor treatment through review of clinical documentation and coordination of care with other providers/health homes

• Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessment as needed

• Engage clients with limited behavioral health service utilization through outreach

• Document services in a timely fashion

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D./PsyD)

• Current NYS registration as a psychologist

• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
