Description

This role is for a Pain Management Physician who evaluates and treats a wide range of pain problems, including chronic and acute conditions such as low back and neck pain. The physician will deliver evidence-informed medical and/or interventional pain management based on appropriate clinical indications and in line with best-practice and regulatory standards. Interventions will often be performed using fluoroscopy or ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients according to best-practice and applicable regulatory standards
• Provide evidence-informed medical and/or interventional pain management based on clinical indication
• Use fluoroscopy or ultrasound to perform most interventions
• Evaluate patient history to determine beneficial procedures using comprehensive pain modalities (e.g., physical therapy and medications)
• Identify the source of pain; conduct specialized tests; prescribe medication; and may perform surgery or procedures
• Participate in team meetings and educational/clinic social events

Requirements

• MD
• In-depth knowledge of pain disorders
• Ability to evaluate patients with difficult pain disorders
• Appropriate prescribing of medications for pain problems
• Ability to use diagnostic tests to pinpoint the cause of pain
• Procedural skill (e.g., nerve blocks, fluoroscopic-guided spinal injections, RFA, ultrasound-guided injections)
• Treatment aligned with the patient’s wishes and belief system

Benefits

• Salary: $220,000-$280,000
