Description

Essen is seeking a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to evaluate and treat a wide range of pain problems, supporting patients with chronic health issues or injuries causing pain. You will examine patients, review medical histories, consult with other care providers, and create therapy or treatment plans to help manage pain.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with chronic or acute pain

• Work with physicians and nurses to create a treatment plan

• Build a comprehensive pain management plan using interventional pain techniques and conservative treatments (e.g., medications, PT)

• Deliver pain relief using other therapeutic methods

• Teach patients and their families strategies to alleviate pain and improve comfort

• Act as a liaison between patient and doctor to monitor medication effects and adjust treatment

Requirements

• Medical degree

• Valid NP license with NYS

• In-depth knowledge of pain disorders

• Ability to evaluate patients with difficult pain disorders

• Appropriate prescribing of medications for pain problems

• Ability to use diagnostic tests to pinpoint causes of pain

• Treatment aligned with patient wishes and belief system

Benefits

• Salary: $130,000–$150,000
