Description

Provide comprehensive breast care, including screening, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for benign and malignant breast conditions. Perform procedures such as core biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, excisional biopsy, lumpectomy, and mastectomy. Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams (oncology, radiology, plastic surgery, and genetic counseling) and contribute to tumor boards and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide screening, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for breast conditions including benign lumps, pain/discomfort, nipple discharge, retractions, areolar changes, and breast cancer stages.
• Perform core biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, excisional biopsy, lumpectomy, and mastectomy.
• Oversee multidisciplinary coordination with oncology, radiology, plastic surgery, and genetic counseling for cancer cases.
• Participate in breast cancer tumor boards and quality improvement initiatives aligned with recognized standards (e.g., Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers).
• Teach or mentor other medical professionals.

Requirements

• MD or DO with a valid NY State medical license (or eligible for licensure).
• Board-eligible or board-certified in General Surgery (American Board of Surgery).
• Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship training strongly preferred (or equivalent expertise).
