Description

This is an outpatient Cardiologist position with an additional opportunity to provide consultations to other divisions. You will evaluate patients, order and interpret testing, diagnose conditions, collaborate with the care team on treatment plans, manage medications, document progress, and educate patients and families. Noninterventional and interventional candidates are welcome; fellows and practicing physicians are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients through interviews, conversations, and observations
• Administer patient tests or request testing/lab work; analyze results
• Diagnose patient conditions and determine appropriate treatment approaches
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical staff to determine treatment
• Set patient goals and establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs
• Select best medications or therapy to help patients reach goals
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake
• Document patient records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments
• Counsel patients and provide emotional tools and methods for recovery
• Educate patients, families, and relevant parties on progress, treatment, and future goals

Requirements

• MD (Medical Doctor) or Doctor of Cardiology
• Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology
• Successful completion of an approved Cardiology residency training program
• Active license
• Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Experience with ECG
• Experience with Echo
• Experience with Stress Testing
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
