Description

Provide clinical evaluation and treatment support for ER, nursing home, and surgical patients. Interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, manage ED and ward consultations in Urology and Orthopedics, and deliver appropriate interventions in collaboration with a supervising surgeon. Handle discharge planning, dictate discharge summaries, and serve as first assistant in surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Answer consults from the ED and other wards for Urology and Orthopedics
• Evaluate and provide appropriate intervention for ER and nursing home patients (with supervising surgeon)
• Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions when appropriate
• Formulate and implement discharge planning and clinical follow-up with the surgeon
• Dictate discharge summaries
• Perform first assistant duties in all surgical procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Current BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required
• Current Board Certification from the NCCPA required
• DEA certificate required
• Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education required
• Infection Control certificate required
