Description

Join a server-side Java engineering team delivering cloud-native solutions for investment and portfolio management systems. You will build Java services and RESTful APIs using microservices patterns and support user acceptance testing and delivery in an agile, continuous delivery environment. The role emphasizes best-practice solution design, code/documentation standards, and close collaboration with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work in a business-facing IT team to deliver new business solutions
• Translate functional specifications into program specifications
• Liaise with end users for user acceptance testing and provide 3rd line support as needed
• Develop expertise around best-practice solution design and implementation
• Follow code and documentation standards, including peer reviews
• Collaborate daily with the Business Product Owner and business users
• Implement Java services and RESTful APIs using micro-services architecture patterns
• Manage time across multiple projects with competing business priorities
• Contribute to testing and documentation throughout the development lifecycle

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience with a strong background in Test-Driven Development
• Java 8 or higher
• Spring Boot
• Spring MVC
• RESTful API implementation experience
• GraphQL experience
• Open-source frameworks experience
• Cloud development experience with AWS
• AWS CloudFormation
• CI/CD pipelines
• Build/deployment/testing/logging/monitoring tools knowledge (Maven, Cucumber, Bamboo)
• Git/Bitbucket familiarity
• Splunk familiarity
• Investment management domain understanding; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with business and operations teams and deliver to tight deadlines
• Agile software development process and practices knowledge
• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) or higher
