Description

Technical Bid Manager for tram projects, responsible for steering the technical bid creation. You connect customer requirements with engineering and cost planning to deliver a convincing technical solution.

Responsibilities

• Develop a technical bid strategy by analyzing tender documents and defining the technical direction with internal specialist teams
• Create the technical solution concept, coordinating system architecture and consolidating technical assumptions including integration and migration concepts
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams (engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning) and involve partners/subcontractors as needed
• Estimate engineering effort, align resources, and review technical calculations for completeness, consistency, and competitiveness
• Own bid documents and reviews: coordinate technical documentation, perform requirements and compliance analyses, and lead technical design reviews until approval
• Support technical negotiations and customer clarifications during the bid phase and ensure structured handover to project engineering after contract award

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, computer science, or a comparable technical discipline
• Experience in engineering and technical bid preparation or technical project leadership, ideally in rolling stock/tram environment
• End-to-end understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through development, integration, and commissioning
• Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in effort estimation, cost/schedule control, and technical risk assessment
• Analytical, structured work style with decision-making ability and strong communication
• Very good German and English skills
• Availability to work on-site in Vienna at least three days per week
