Description

Lead software engineers across assigned domain team(s), owning delivery of releases and hotfixes while enforcing engineering excellence through hands-on code reviews and coding standards. Serve as an AI productivity champion, driving adoption of AI-powered coding tools to achieve targeted developer productivity improvements (60%). Use productivity analytics (JellyFish) to measure adoption, identify bottlenecks, and demonstrate ROI from AI investments.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

• Provide hands-on technical guidance and direction; conduct thorough code reviews.
• Enforce engineering standards: unit test coverage, code quality metrics, documentation, and coding conventions.
• Mentor senior engineers/technical leads; participate in technical design discussions.
• Continuously improve engineering practices, tools, and processes.

AI-Driven Productivity & Developer Performance

• Drive adoption of AI coding tools to reach 60% productivity gains.
• Be the organization’s champion/expert for AI coding technologies with hands-on proficiency.
• Lead transformation of development practices to leverage AI capabilities.
• Train teams on best practices for maximizing AI coding assistants.
• Use JellyFish analytics to track productivity, AI adoption rates, efficiency gains, and ROI.
• Evaluate new AI tools and techniques for possible adoption.

Delivery Management & Accountability

• Own delivery of all SaaS application releases and hotfixes.
• Collaborate with the project manager on end-to-end delivery; ensure quality, timeline, and stakeholder requirements.
• Manage release planning, scheduling, and coordination across distributed teams.
• Provide workload/effort estimation and delivery timeline insights; identify and mitigate delivery risks.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and DevOps on hotfix prioritization and rapid response to critical production issues.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Mentor and support engineers; foster a collaborative environment.
• Set clear objectives, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Recruit technical talent with enthusiasm for AI-assisted development.
• Identify training needs, especially for AI coding tools and technical skill development.
• Build a high-performing team culture across geographic boundaries.

SDLC Management & Quality

• Own the SDLC process and drive continuous improvement.
• Enforce development best practices: coding standards, mandatory code reviews, unit testing requirements, test coverage targets, documentation standards, and version control strategies.
• Ensure comprehensive unit test coverage across code changes.
• Drive initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve maintainability.
• Maintain and secure code repositories and version control processes.

Collaboration & Issue Resolution

• Work closely with Systems Architect, DevOps, and cross-functional teams (QA, Product, Deployment).
• Provide regular delivery status updates, risks, and team performance reporting to VP of Engineering and Delivery.
• Respond urgently to critical production issues based on SLAs.
• Lead post-mortems for major issues and implement preventive actions.

Requirements

• 8-10 years software development experience; 5+ years in technical leadership or management roles
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon CodeWhisperer) with demonstrated productivity gains
• Proven track record driving AI adoption across engineering teams
• Experience with engineering productivity platforms such as JellyFish (or similar analytics tools)
• Strong hands-on Microsoft experience: .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Azure, SQL Server
• Experience delivering SaaS releases in retail software or similar domains
• Experience with DevOps practices and Microsoft DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
• Strong experience conducting code reviews and establishing engineering standards in production
• Deep understanding of unit testing and test automation
• Experience evolving monolithic architectures and addressing technical debt
• Track record leading distributed teams across multiple locations/time zones; remote/distributed team management is essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/related field (Master’s a plus)

Salary range: 300,000.00–370,000.00 PLN (UoP).
