Description

You will help build a modern claims-handling platform from scratch as part of a digital transformation program. The role combines hands-on Java/Spring development with technical leadership across system architecture, integrations, and delivery practices. You will also drive API governance and end-to-end observability for a scalable, fault-tolerant microservices system.

Responsibilities

• Design the new system architecture for claims settlement and document it

• Actively develop the distributed microservices system (agentic coding)

• Lead as Tech Lead/Architect in an Agile Scrum team (technical direction and architectural decisions)

• Perform feasibility analyses, define delivery assumptions, and estimate engineering effort

• Set technology standards; ensure code quality and meet operational and security requirements

• Manage engineering tasks, lead code reviews, create technical documentation, mentor the team, and grow competencies

• Run architecture workshops, co-create technology roadmaps, and assess risks

• Design and oversee system integrations, API governance, and ensure performance and scalability

• Collaborate with Product Owner and business to clarify requirements

• Use cloud and AI/agentic SDLC tools in the development process

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in the insurance domain

• Minimum 5 years designing and overseeing system architecture

• Excellent Java skills with hands-on development using Spring/Spring Boot

• Practical microservices architecture experience for scalable, secure, resilient distributed systems

• Strong knowledge of architectural/integration patterns and API governance

• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture for system integration

• Proficiency with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

• Experience with relational databases and query optimization

• Practical end-to-end observability design and implementation experience

• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure automation, and cloud

• Experience leading a technical team: task assignment, code reviews, mentoring, architecture workshops, roadmap contributions, and risk assessment

• English level at least B2
