• Role: Technical Lead, Data Science (hands-on)

Description

You will lead the technical direction of data science engagements end-to-end—framing problems with clients, signing off on modeling approaches, reviewing work, and ensuring delivery quality and that outputs run reliably. As a hands-on lead, you will still code in Python and scrutinize metrics and model decisions, while mentoring the team and setting engineering standards. Delivery spans platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, and major cloud services (Azure/AWS/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Own solution design, modeling approach, validation strategy, and delivery quality

• Lead and mentor data scientists (code and methodology reviews, career development)

• Prototype approaches, unblock modeling challenges, and contribute production-grade Python where needed

• Translate business problems into scoped, estimable data science workstreams; push back when a model isn’t needed

• Set and enforce engineering standards (reproducibility, experiment tracking, testing, documentation)

• Guide platform and delivery decisions across cloud/data ecosystems

• Align technical decisions with business outcomes and timelines with AI architects, data engineers, and client stakeholders

• Present results to clients and defend methodology/technical expectations

Requirements

• 6+ years in data science; production-shipped models; at least 2 years leading or mentoring

• Deep hands-on Python across the standard data science stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost)

• Strong statistical/ML foundations (experimental design and validation methodology)

• Familiarity with one or more cloud/data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir)

• Client-facing/consulting delivery experience (scoping, estimation, technical risk management)

• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

• Fluent English and fluent Polish; residing in Poland
