• Working model: Hybrid (8 days per month on-site at the client office in Warsaw)

Description

You will work on implementing a modern data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and building a data lakehouse that connects reporting, analytics, and data management. The project includes developing Data Governance and foundations for AI and next-generation data products, using a hub & spoke model. You will bridge business needs and technical execution by documenting requirements and producing technical specifications for data engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document business requirements

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data engineering teams

• Gather and document requirements

• Create user stories and functional specifications

• Produce process and data flow diagrams

• Perform and maintain source-to-target mapping between source systems and warehouse layers

• Define data transformation rules and document business logic hidden in source systems

• Explore data independently and derive business insights

• Write complex analytical SQL queries

• Work with BigQuery, including partitioned and clustered tables

• Perform data profiling and validation; identify anomalies and define data quality rules

• Design silver/gold data layers with data engineers

• Create professional business documentation and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst

• Experience analyzing and documenting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications

• Experience with source-to-target data mapping between source systems and warehouse layers

• Ability to explore data independently and formulate business conclusions

• Communication skills and ability to collaborate with business, data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders

• Advanced SQL skills: complex analytical queries, window functions, CTE, aggregations, profiling/validation, query optimization

• Practical BigQuery knowledge: writing queries, partitioned and clustered tables, cost awareness

• Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, working with large datasets

• Data modeling knowledge: 3NF, dimensional/Kimball, Data Vault; ability to design silver/gold layers with data engineers

• Ability to create and maintain source-to-target mapping documents; define transformation rules; document business logic from source systems

• Data profiling & data quality skills: analyze data quality, detect anomalies, define data quality rules

• Ability to create professional business documentation
