Description

Lead and maintain enterprise batch processing services running on IBM z/OS. Ensure stability, availability, and reliable execution of daily, monthly, yearly, and business-critical batch processes using IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS). Combine hands-on troubleshooting with technical leadership to drive automation, monitoring, incident management, and continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stability, availability, and reliability of batch processing services and supporting infrastructure

• Oversee creation, modification, scheduling, and execution of critical batch processes

• Troubleshoot and resolve batch processing failures to minimize business disruption

• Coordinate team activities as a Technical Lead (delegation and knowledge sharing)

• Manage end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processing activities

• Drive improvements in batch automation, monitoring, system performance, and operational efficiency

• Implement infrastructure changes with focus on automation, security, resilience, and service availability

• Ensure compliance with IT Service Management standards, SLAs, and internal controls

• Participate in incident and change management; identify risks and implement solutions

• Manage certificate renewals and IBM Dynamic Workload Console

• Collaborate with international engineering and operations teams

• Participate in on-call rota for critical batch operations

Requirements

• Strong hands-on knowledge of JCL and IBM z/OS Mainframe environments

• Solid experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)

• Deep understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and troubleshooting batch failures

• Experience managing business-critical end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processing

• Basic knowledge of Horizont IWS Graph, BatchCP, BatchAD, and XINFO

• Good understanding of Incident Management, Change Management, and SLAs

• Ability to coordinate technical activities, delegate tasks, and support knowledge sharing

• Experience driving operational improvements and implementing technical solutions

• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Ability and willingness to participate in and coordinate an on-call rota

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an international environment

• Very good English (written and spoken)
