Description

You will develop and maintain modern IT infrastructure in a research-oriented environment, taking ownership of planning, administration, documentation, and continuous improvements. Responsibilities include coordinating IT projects, integrating applications with related servers, gateways, and virtual desktops, and implementing data security measures with IT leadership. You also support first- and second-level operations as needed and manage external providers for third-level support.

Responsibilities

• Manage and document the IT infrastructure and continuously improve it across offices, mobile workstations, and data-center locations

• Collaborate with other IT areas in the research organization to improve the overall IT structure

• Coordinate and steer ongoing IT projects

• Integrate applications along with related servers, gateways, and virtual desktops

• Design and implement data security measures with the IT leadership team

• Coordinate external service providers for 3rd-level support

• Provide first- and second-level support to employees when needed

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification with several years of professional experience

• Extensive practical experience in planning and administering IT systems

• Willingness to take on leadership responsibilities

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Independent, structured, and reliable working style; high engagement and motivation

• Ideally knowledge of scalable storage systems, replication topologies, backup systems, company-wide WLAN management, centralized monitoring, and centralized firewall management
