Description

You will lead the functional and strategic direction of software solutions for private health and long-term care insurance. You structure and prioritize the product and sprint backlogs based on functional requirements, regulatory obligations, business considerations, and legal deadlines. You will also drive automation-focused initiatives for the care reform (starting 2027) and modernization of processing and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Own the Product Owner role for the KV & PV Solutions squad and ensure further development of the entire product and application portfolio.
• Cover care-insurance solutions (e.g., CURAFORUM and digital online application flows) and health-benefit processing systems (including decentralized Java applications and interfaces to HOST architecture).
• Support the planned completion of the care initiative by the end of 2026 and implement the Pflege reform 2027 initiative and backlog reduction via automation from January 2027.
• Structure, maintain, and prioritize the Product and Sprint Backlog using functional requirements, regulatory requirements, economic aspects, and statutory deadlines.
• Manage squad capacity and resource planning and conduct regular target-vs-actual alignment checks.
• Partner with the Agile Master to foster psychological safety, open communication, and dependable solution-oriented collaboration.
• Act as central communication contact for business units, IT architecture, stream owners, and internal/external stakeholders to align requirements and develop shared solutions.
• Advance expansion of dark processing, optimization of input management, and integration of modern SaaS solutions into the system landscape.

Requirements

• Degree in (Business) Informatics, Business Administration, Health Management, or comparable training with relevant experience as Product Owner or in a similar steering role in an agile environment.
• In-depth experience steering complex software products, ideally including decentralized Java applications and integration with core systems (Mainframe/HOST).
• Proven experience in agile product development, structured prioritization of requirements, and team resource planning.
• Structured, solution-oriented and pragmatic working style; can make balanced decisions under tight timelines or regulatory pressure.
• Strong communication skills and appreciation for close cross-site collaboration in an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong alignment with agile values and a commitment to building an environment of mutual respect and psychological safety.
• Ideally, domain expertise in health and long-term care insurance and experience with agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
