Senior Backend Product Engineer (Elixir)

Join the Intelligence team to build AI-powered backend features that turn fuzzy ideas into trustworthy, real user product functionality. You’ll own problems end to end—shaping, building, shipping, and validating impact—while improving scalability, reliability, and maintainability. The role is primarily backend-focused, with the ability to follow problems into the frontend when needed.

Role Description

Build and ship AI-powered capabilities as mature product features used by real customers. Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, design, QA, and DevOps to solve complex problems and deliver product improvements.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered features into production products (not a greenfield demo)
• Work across the stack when required (80/20: mostly backend, comfortable going into frontend)
• Take end-to-end ownership: ensure features are well-tested, maintainable, and meet quality standards
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and platform improvements for scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Partner with cross-functional teams to solve customer problems and improve the product

Requirements

• Commercial experience with Elixir, or strong backend experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or PHP plus strong motivation to learn Elixir
• Experience with TypeScript and Mastra, or willingness to learn them
• Senior-level judgment based on having shipped enough to know when “good enough” is sufficient
• Product thinking: challenge specs, evaluate trade-offs, prototype quickly, and iterate based on data
• Interest in building with AI; hands-on LLM/feature experience is a plus
• Fluent English; Polish is a plus
