Description

Own and evolve the Identity product experience that sits at the center of Tesco’s retail platform, enabling user interactions, payments, account access, and the Clubcard experience. You will work with multiple agile/scrum teams to iteratively deliver continuous authentication “everywhere,” shaping strategy and prioritizing business requirements for the Identity API handling billions of authentications. Translate technical and non-technical needs to close the communication gap between engineering and the business while bringing relevant identity/API innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers to deliver value iteratively in an agile/scrum environment
  • Shape product strategy, define and prioritize business requirements, and align plans with business units
  • Lead development plans using agile methodologies; prioritize requirements, answer engineering questions, and resolve issues
  • Work with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver the roadmap with a customer-first mindset
  • Improve the Identity API by applying knowledge of authentication standards, API design best practices, and emerging trends/innovations
  • Prioritize work considering technical debt and the value of upgrades

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience in an agile or Scrum environment
  • Strong technical skills working with APIs and cloud services; ideally from an engineering background
  • Essential understanding of API design and best practices
  • Preferable experience with authentication standards such as OAuth2 and OIDC (not required)
  • Ability to understand Tesco’s technical landscape, API infrastructure, and deliver measurable value
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; can produce clear documentation for engineering teams
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills across engineering, senior leadership, and partners/vendors
  • Strong prioritization and time management, with analytical problem-solving and first-principles thinking
  • Team player with ownership, responsiveness, and commitment to assigned work
  • Experience with agile ways of working, including writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to make faster decisions while managing trade-offs
  • Experience with OKRs (highly preferred)
