Description

Design, develop, maintain, and operate distributed software systems that use real-time and streaming data to monitor, aggregate, and control millions of IoT devices. Work on scalability, reliability, performance, and security in production systems, including building services to test those capabilities. Collaborate closely with a manager and mentor to ship initiatives that support the team’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and operate distributed software systems using real-time/streaming data
  • Characterize complex scalability, reliability, performance, and security problems
  • Test performance, scalability, and reliability; build services that support this testing
  • Collaborate to improve developer productivity and drive initiatives to completion
  • Model team values including engineering excellence, curiosity, bias for action, self-awareness, inclusivity, and vulnerability

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Full-time availability for a minimum of 12 weeks (40 hours/week) and on-site work
  • Fluency in full stack web languages and tools (JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React preferred; GraphQL a plus)
  • High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to learn quickly, and passion for moving fast and building great things
