Description

Build, customize, optimize, and maintain high-performing eCommerce websites on Shopify. Develop custom Shopify themes, reusable sections and components, migrate sites to Shopify, and integrate third-party apps. Apply performance optimization, SEO, and CRO best practices, and thoroughly QA work before submission.

Responsibilities

• Build custom Shopify sections, blocks, and reusable front-end components
• Optimize and extend core Shopify theme features for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Use the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API for advanced features
• Integrate and customize third-party apps and Shopify-supported extensions
• Stay current with Shopify platform updates and development best practices
• Communicate with team leads, project managers, and designers on goals and deliverables
• Suggest improvements, share feedback, and identify opportunities to improve workflows
• Develop and customize Shopify themes
• Migrate websites from other eCommerce platforms to Shopify
• Extend Shopify functionality with Storefront APIs, Liquid, metafields, and metaobjects
• Configure payment integrations, shipping methods, taxes, and other Shopify settings
• Optimize for page speed, SEO, and conversion rate optimization
• Translate PSD layouts into pixel-perfect HTML5/CSS3 templates
• Create responsive, cross-browser-compatible designs
• Use version control systems such as Git or SVN
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Perform thorough QA before submission

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Shopify website development experience
• Strong knowledge of the Shopify platform
• Experience creating custom sections from scratch and reusable front-end components in Shopify themes
• Expertise in Shopify theme development and customization
• Advanced knowledge of Shopify Liquid
• Advanced knowledge of Shopify Metafields and Metaobjects; familiarity with Shopify Search & Discovery app
• Familiarity with Shopify CLI
• Proficiency with the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API
• Experience with Shopify JS APIs (Storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections)
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and ECMAScript
• Experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery
• Strong responsive design and cross-browser compatibility knowledge
• Knowledge of W3C web standards, semantic HTML, and accessibility
• Clear communication and collaboration skills
• Proactive ownership mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and organized work style
• Positive attitude and ability to learn quickly
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to adapt to a diverse, multicultural remote team
• Availability for 40 hours/week during specified Pacific Time hours
