Consulting Team Manager

Description

You will manage the day-to-day operations of a Microsoft consulting team, ensuring effective delivery support, proper staffing, and consultant capacity planning. You will partner with management and consultants so the right people work on the right projects, with room for growth and professional development. The role also covers onboarding/offboarding, team reporting to management, internal processes/KPIs, and participation in hiring and competency development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and care for the team with regular 1:1s and career development support
• Set and evaluate individual goals; support annual performance evaluations
• Handle operational and people-related topics; organize team meetings
• Plan workloads, coordinate project staffing, and use capacity plans/forecasts
• Identify available capacity and ensure it is utilized effectively
• Coordinate with Delivery and Account managers; support delivery organization operations
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding, track work reporting, manage certifications and development plans
• Report team status to management; support internal processes and KPIs
• Participate in selection processes; define required competencies; support recruiting and new-hire onboarding

Requirements

• People leadership experience (minimum 3–5 years) if applying as an experienced manager
• Experience from IT or a technology company
• Ability to independently manage a team and resolve people-related topics
• Experience with capacity planning
• Strong communication skills and natural authority
• Czech: C1/C2; English: at least intermediate
• Alternatively (less experienced track): experience coordinating teams/projects/operations and willingness to grow into a management role
