Description

You will own the technical development of a JavaScript application-protection product as the only engineer on the codebase, turning high-level product goals into researched, working features. Responsibilities include investigating browser runtime behavior and build-environment controls, developing protection capabilities across JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, and validating AI-assisted implementations.

Responsibilities

• Own JSDefender’s technical delivery from product goals to researched implementation options and working features

• Develop application-protection capabilities across JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and build environments

• Investigate browser runtime behavior and protection approaches (developer-tools inspection, environment-access controls), evaluating compatibility, performance, and trade-offs

• Optionally contribute to a React/Electron Dotfuscator UI during the initial months

• Run short research spikes (typically 1–3 days) and present options, findings, risks, and recommendations

• Use Claude Code to accelerate implementation while independently checking generated code and validating behavior

• Communicate progress and blockers via Slack; maintain a reliable working schedule and communicate planned absences

• Contribute to adjacent CI/CD, front-end, or C++ package work when needed

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on TypeScript engineering experience

• Demonstrated ability to independently own technical delivery as the sole engineer

• Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript behavior, browser execution, and the build ecosystem (e.g., Webpack or Vite)

• Product-engineering mindset: progress from incomplete requirements, investigate unknowns, compare options, and align on consequential decisions

• Critical thinking and clear technical communication; ability to ask useful follow-up questions

• Ability to review unfamiliar code, identify defects and potential vulnerabilities, explain trade-offs, and verify AI-assisted implementations

• Availability for European team overlap and agreed scrum meetings, with dependable asynchronous communication

• Upper-intermediate English level
