Description

Lead, coach, and develop a software engineering team to deliver high-quality Windows native applications. Combine product ownership with people leadership by partnering with product management and design to understand customer needs, use data and experimentation, and drive execution from planning through release and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop engineering talent; set expectations and ownership; strengthen leadership
• Take an entrepreneurial approach: find new opportunities, prototype ideas quickly, and turn them into differentiated Windows experiences
• Partner with product management and design to shape priorities and translate product direction into an engineering roadmap
• Own execution from planning through release; manage commitments, dependencies, quality, and risks
• Collaborate with principal and senior engineers on architecture, design, performance, and reliability; enable technical leaders
• Use telemetry, analytics, experimentation, and customer feedback to assess application health and measure outcomes
• Communicate product health, priorities, risks, trade-offs, and results to senior leaders and cross-functional partners
• Align teams across Windows on platform capabilities, dependencies, and shared technical decisions
• Balance capacity across new product work, platform modernization, technical debt, quality, and operational commitments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding (including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python)
• Ability to meet Microsoft and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check
