• Role: Principal Software Engineer (Data Factory team)

Description

You will define technical vision and architecture for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration services and help deliver them with high quality and security. The role involves designing and optimizing scalable, reliable, and secure systems, resolving highly complex technical issues, and driving cross-team initiatives. You will also partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, Security, and Engineering leaders while mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and architecture for large systems

• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives and drive technical strategy aligned with business objectives

• Make critical design and architecture decisions

• Design, build, and review scalable, reliable, and secure systems

• Resolve highly complex technical issues; optimize performance, availability, and operational excellence

• Guide teams in implementing engineering practices

• Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, Security, and Engineering leaders

• Influence roadmaps across multiple organizations and drive adoption of shared platforms and services

• Lead major engineering investments

• Mentor engineers; raise the technical bar through code reviews and design reviews

• Develop engineering talent and foster a culture of innovation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C/C++/C#/Java/JavaScript/Python (or equivalent experience)

• Ability to meet security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years

Benefits

• Base pay range in the U.S.: USD $165,600–$296,400 per year (location-dependent range for certain metro areas)
