Description

You will support delivery of data governance and data quality initiatives as a Product Owner. The work focuses on building and prioritizing a backlog of data quality problems and initiatives, aligning business needs and expected benefits with delivery teams, and coordinating execution across business, IT, and data experts. Regular workshops, documentation of decisions/risks/actions, and stakeholder reporting are core parts of the role.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and prioritize the backlog for data quality problems and initiatives

• Collaborate regularly with business leaders to identify needs, issues, and business value

• Organize and lead recurring meetings, workshops, and working sessions with business stakeholders

• Document agreements, decisions, risks, and actions resulting from business collaboration

• Work with business analysts and data analysts to analyze reported issues and propose solution directions

• Define business requirements and recommend improvements to data quality

• Coordinate work of a matrix team including business analyst and data analyst, plus involved experts

• Manage scope, priorities, and monitor delivery of agreed actions

• Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, business representatives, and IT teams

• Identify dependencies between initiatives and recommend an implementation order that delivers the highest business value

• Report progress and present recommendations to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels

• Use Jira, Confluence, and MS Office for planning and documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Product Owner, Business Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or a related role

• Experience managing product/business backlogs (products, initiatives, or business processes)

• Experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management or a broad data domain

• Ability to conduct discussions with senior management and manage stakeholders effectively

• Experience facilitating workshops, aligning requirements, and building consensus between business and IT

• Experience coordinating teams delivered in a matrix model

• Ability to define priorities, manage scope, and make decisions based on business value

• Experience in large organizations

• Practical knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and MS Office

• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery models

• Advanced communication, analytical, and organizational skills

• Preferred: experience in the banking/financial sector

• Preferred: knowledge of data catalog, metadata, lineage, data products, and data quality monitoring

• Preferred: basic SQL and data analysis concepts
