Description

You will support complex Packet Core projects across development, quality assurance, planning, implementation, and maintenance of product releases. You will define strategies for automated planning, integration, and delivery, including cross-project infrastructure and tooling. The role focuses on harmonized automation frameworks for cloud-native Packet Core and includes designing deployment and disaster recovery concepts, in close cooperation with operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, QA, planning, implementation, and maintenance of product releases for highly complex projects

• Develop and define strategies for automated planning, integration, and delivery, including cross-project infrastructure and tool suites

• Apply harmonized automation frameworks and cloud-native Packet Core functions to enable efficient, reliable automated deployments

• Elaborate new deployment strategies and disaster recovery concepts aligned with overall goals and requirements

• Work closely with operations teams to deploy planned solutions, improve process efficiency, and drive digitization in support processes

Requirements

• University degree in computer science (or comparable qualification) and several years of professional experience in a Telco environment (system engineering and/or operations)

• Comprehensive knowledge of Packet Data Core systems

• Strong understanding of EPC and 5GC architecture, interfaces, and call flows, including interaction with surrounding systems

• Long-standing experience in 2nd- or 3rd-level support for Mobile Packet Core systems

• Strong experience with both classical and agile cooperation models

• Very good English command (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

• Expertise in monitoring systems and trace analysis

• Knowledge of automation and machine learning

• Experience with cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenStack

• Knowledge of Helm, Istio, Prometheus, and Flux

• Experience with microservice architecture and maintaining cloud-based applications

• Basic German language skills (mainly spoken)
