Description

Lead the requirements-to-prototype process and deliver advanced UI/UX and front-end solutions for client-facing portal applications. Define UI/UX standards and design systems, build reusable React/TypeScript components, and ensure code quality, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, and responsive usability through reviews and testing. Collaborate with backend and API teams and mentor developers across UI/UX and front-end engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery and clarification, then produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
• Define and maintain UI/UX standards, interaction patterns, and design systems for portal applications
• Design and develop React.js and TypeScript components, shared UI libraries, and reusable front-end solutions
• Establish front-end architecture, coding standards, and development best practices
• Review pull requests and provide actionable feedback on code quality, architecture, usability, and design fidelity
• Collaborate with backend and API teams to ensure user experiences are technically feasible and aligned with service/data constraints
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and responsive design principles
• Conduct usability testing and iterate solutions based on user feedback, analytics, and business requirements
• Mentor mid-level developers in UI/UX design thinking and front-end engineering practices
• Represent portal architecture, design, and technical governance discussions; ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, accessible, and consistent

Requirements

• 14+ years overall experience in software/digital product/application design and development
• 8+ years hands-on experience with React.js and TypeScript
• Advanced UI/UX and product design portfolio
• Expert Figma skills (component libraries and design systems)
• React component architecture experience (hooks, state management, reusable UI development)
• Proven ability to translate high-fidelity designs into production-ready responsive and accessible interfaces
• Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and modern responsive design practices
• Experience with CI/CD environments and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift)
• Experience conducting code reviews and providing technical/design guidance
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to explain and defend design and technical decisions
• Experience mentoring developers and supporting technical decision-making in a front-end team
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
