• Focus: Firmware architecture, bring-up, connectivity, observability, and CI/quality

Description

Own firmware for the nRF7120 / Zephyr nRF Connect SDK platform, including DK bring-up, Kconfig + device tree structure, thread topology, littlefs storage, and MCU boot/DFU. Build native Zephyr connectivity (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth host, and cellular via the Zephyr modem subsystem) and lead observability with Memfault (coredumps, metrics, OTA campaigns, alerting). Set firmware quality standards with CI compile firewalls, unit-testable C using injectable fakes, and replay-harnesses to preserve behavior.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware on the nRF7120 / Zephyr NCS platform: DK bring-up, Kconfig + device tree structure, thread topology, littlefs storage, MCU boot/DFU

• Build native Zephyr connectivity: Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth host, and cellular via the Zephyr modem subsystem

• Own firmware observability with Memfault: coredumps, metrics, OTA campaigns, alerting

• Raise firmware quality: CI compile firewall, unit-testable C with injectable fakes, replay harness for behavior preservation

• Collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and system engineering teams

Requirements

• 8+ years hands-on embedded firmware; 3+ years shipping production Zephyr / nRF Connect SDK on real hardware

• nRF7120 (rare) or adjacent nRF52/nRF53/nRF91 experience

• Production fluency in Kconfig and device tree

• Zephyr Bluetooth host with real GATT-service porting; native Zephyr Wi‑Fi and cellular over the modem subsystem

• Nordic MCU and peripheral experience (PWM, ADC, DAC, CAN, UART, etc.)

• Strong C99/C11, CMake, and git; production fluency and tooling experience

• Production Memfault experience

• Experience with firmware-level power optimization techniques

• Consumer IoT / connected-device firmware background (wearables, trackers, connected devices)

• Daily use of AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

• CET/EET business-hour overlap; long-term commitment of 2+ years

• English written and verbal communication skills (min. B2)

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Electrical Engineering, or related field
