Description

Develop and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers aligned with IEC 61508. Evaluate and process digital and analog signals, implement safety mechanisms in real-time systems, and create diagnostics and self-tests. Integrate, debug, test, and optimize firmware on hardware prototypes while collaborating with safety electronics teams and building an effective firmware test environment.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of embedded firmware for microcontrollers according to IEC 61508
• Evaluation and further processing of digital and analog signals
• Use of communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and EtherCAT
• Implementation of safety mechanisms in real-time systems
• Development of diagnostic functions and self-tests
• Integration, debugging, testing, and optimization on hardware prototypes
• Close collaboration with safety electronics development in small teams
• Development of a suitable firmware test environment

Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, SWD) and emulators
• Knowledge of static code analysis and unit testing
• Experience in embedded software development with C, C++ and Python on common ARM-based microcontroller platforms (desirable)
• Understanding of MISRA C and safety-coding standards (plus)
• Sound knowledge of control engineering and initial experience implementing on microcontrollers (desirable)
• Knowledge in electronics and measurement technology (advantage)
• Interest in innovation and technology
• Flexibility, high reliability, and enjoyment of engaged, team-oriented work
• Very good German (at least C2 or native) and good English (at least B2)
