Description

You will help shape the technological direction of a central transformation program for the energy industry and take a key role in advancing the SAP S/4HANA Utilities landscape. The position combines strategic architecture work with hands-on support for complex, detail-level topics and cross-domain solution development.

Responsibilities

• Own functionally strategic topics within the SAP S/4HANA Utilities architecture landscape
• Define technical guardrails, standards, and target architectures for multiple products and process domains
• Develop, evaluate, and approve complex solution approaches affecting cross-functional business processes; actively support implementation for technically and functionally demanding cases
• Drive sustainable further development of the SAP Utilities architecture in close alignment with Enterprise Architecture and management
• Steer domain-spanning initiatives and provide functional leadership to virtual expert teams
• Develop implementation strategies for regulatory requirements and ensure their enterprise-wide integration
• Analyze and prioritize business-critical technical risks
• Create decision foundations for management and governing bodies; represent technical recommendations at management level
• Identify and assess new technologies, automation, and AI opportunities and derive strategic action areas

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a technical expert or lead architect in the SAP Utilities domain and complex system landscapes
• Proven ability to functionally steer complex transformation or digitalization programs
• Recognized functional and technical expertise in SAP S/4HANA Utilities, with hands-on sparring support for teams
• Experience defining target architectures, technical standards, and governance structures
• Strong capability to prepare strategic decisions and advise management-level stakeholders
• Excellent understanding of energy market processes and regulatory requirements
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and external partners without disciplinary responsibility
• High decisiveness and ability to execute in complex organizational structures
• Fluent German and very good English (at least B2)
