Description

Own end-to-end fullstack features for an AI-powered tax platform used by accounting firms, from problem discovery through design, building frontend/backend, production shipping, and iteration.

Build React interfaces, TypeScript APIs, and Python backend services where AI supports accuracy, transparency, and human judgment.

Use real usage data and customer feedback to decide what to improve next and to shape product and technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain fullstack features across AI-powered tax preparation, planning, and review

• Design and implement React interfaces, TypeScript APIs, and Python backend services

• Take ownership of features from discovery to implementation, release, and iteration

• Use usage data and customer feedback to identify improvements

• Make product and technical decisions with incomplete upfront definition

• Collaborate with engineering, AI, product, and domain experts; incorporate input from customer-facing teams

• Keep the codebase clean, typed, and performant while moving fast

• Decide when additional polish adds value vs. shipping and learning quickly

Requirements

• 5+ years commercial experience building fullstack applications (React + Python)

• Product mindset focused on user problem/outcomes

• Proven ability to take ownership end to end from unclear need to production solution

• Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and refining scope iteratively

• Pragmatic engineering balancing quality and speed with business impact

• Strong collaboration and communication skills (autonomy with teamwork)

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud and/or Azure

• Availability for afternoon work (e.g., 12–20) and on-call 1–2 times per week

• Experience taking a product/major feature from 0 to 1

• Experience building in regulated or otherwise complex domains
