Description

Lead release engineering and productivity tooling for a Debian-based software build and CI ecosystem. Manage engineers responsible for build infrastructure, packaging and installation, developer build environments, and tools that improve developer productivity. Own automated builds, monitoring/troubleshooting, code scans, static/dynamic analysis, and Python-based full-stack tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve engineering infrastructure services supporting automated builds, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

• Maintain and enhance Debian-based build environment, Makefiles, build scripts, and package repositories

• Execute code scans and static/dynamic analysis and publish actionable results

• Partner with development and test teams to identify process improvements and deliver Python-based full-stack tooling

• Build, operate, and evolve CI pipelines across software components

• Scale engineering infrastructure to meet growing R&D needs

• Work with IT and DevOps teams to adopt best practices and deliver scalable infrastructure solutions

Requirements

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience (BS acceptable)

• 4+ years as a manager of Software Tools Engineering or Release Engineering teams

• 10+ years overall in Software Configuration Management and Software Tools administration (or related areas)

• Strong knowledge of build automation, Software Configuration Management, and CI systems

• Familiarity with Jenkins, GNU Make, Jira, Git

• Strong Linux knowledge: system boot process, kernel configuration, kernel modules, package managers

• Strong programming knowledge in Python and Perl; familiarity with MySQL

• Strong operations mindset; ability to run systems and resolve issues

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for global, dynamic teams
