Description

You will design and build a backend agent framework for product setup and configuration, enabling AI agents to handle multi-step configuration and troubleshooting through natural language workflows. You will define contracts for reusable agent skills, implement evaluation infrastructure to keep agent behavior trustworthy at scale, and build retrieval to help agents find the right records and context. You’ll ship production-grade software and contribute to shared system context, while evaluating correctness, quality, security, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a core agent framework to host capabilities and orchestrate tasks reliably into human workflows.

• Define reusable agent skill contracts (API design, versioning, and composability).

• Build evaluation infrastructure for non-deterministic outputs and use it to detect regressions over time.

• Implement efficient record and context discovery using structured queries, catalogs, and semantic search.

• Develop, review, and ship secure, optimized, production-grade backend software using modern engineering practices with AI as a core part of development.

• Contribute to a shared system context repository of system designs, constraints, and standards.

• Critically evaluate code (including AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.

Requirements

• 6+ years experience designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems.

• Experience with API design and versioning for platforms used by multiple teams.

• Strong skills in at least one modern programming language and experience shipping production code.

• Ability to reason clearly about ambiguous, large-scale systems and communicate tradeoffs.

• Genuine AI-first engineering approach using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, Claude Code).

• Advanced prompt engineering skills for precise, structured prompts.

• Related technical degree.
