Description

You will help modernize UDI’s critical databases by moving them from on-prem to the cloud and by strengthening database platform operations. The position emphasizes automated deployment and operations, observability (monitoring, logging, alerting), incident troubleshooting with structured root-cause analysis, and storage/backup/restore management. You will also act as a requirements lead for database cloud migration and support database security and privacy work.

Responsibilities

• Automate and standardize database platform operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and CI/CD

• Collaborate with cloud development teams on deployment and runtime environments

• Establish and evolve observability (monitoring, logging, alerting); develop a Proof-of-Concept for cloud monitoring using an SRE AI agent

• Troubleshoot incidents and perform structured root-cause analyses

• Administer storage, backup, and restore solutions

• Lead cloud migration processes where databases are central components

• Drive identification of new opportunities and stay current on technology and cloud database platform trends

• Assess whether cloud migration is appropriate and defensible

• Contribute to database structure with focus on privacy and security (together with architects)

• Perform and contribute to ROS (risk and vulnerability) analyses for the database platform

• Support teams and projects where natural

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the listed responsibilities

• Bachelor’s-level formal education (or equivalent) in an IKT-related field; 12+ years of documented relevant experience may replace formal education

• Documented experience operating and administering cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB)

• Experience developing a POC for cloud monitoring with an SRE AI agent or equivalent

• Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, networking, security, storage)

• Experience with platform operations, observability, and lifecycle management

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps principles

• Good written and spoken Norwegian

• Ability to be security cleared and authorized to BEGRENSET level
